Already with external partnerships involving University of Kansas Health System and LMH Health, Newman Regional Health has announced it is a founding member of a larger collaborative.
Newman Regional, KU Med and LMH Health are now part of Astra Health, alongside Amberwell Health and Salina Regional Health Center.
There are several goals with this new partnership, mainly to bring more affordable healthcare to patients, improve outcomes and bolster access to care. Another goal, however, is to use the scale of a larger health system as a cost containment model while simultaneously maintaining independence.
Initial work between the Astra Health facilities will be focused on information and resources, with those conversations leading to shared quality metrics and enhanced tools for better and more affordable care.
The new collaborative partnership will also “complement and enhance” the 51-hospital Kansas Clinical Improvement Collaborative that launched in 2016, working towards high-quality and efficient care.
