Emporia High soccer picked up a convincing 5-1 victory over St. Mary’s Academy Thursday at the Salina South Tournament.
Brayden Sailer provided the offensive spark in the first half, scoring twice to help the Spartans take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
The Black and Red continued to pull away after the break, adding three second-half goals to secure the win. Ricardo Ramos was among the Spartans to find the back of the net in the second half.
Sailer has been a key offensive weapon early in the season. With his two-goal performance Thursday, he now has six goals through four matches.
The victory improves EHS to 3-1 on the season.
The Spartans will wrap up tournament play Saturday when they face Junction City in the fifth-place game. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
