Emporia High volleyball returned to action Saturday for the first time in more than a week, making the trip to the Valley Center Tournament.
The Lady Spartans got off to a difficult start, dropping their first two matches of the day. Andover and Bishop Carroll each earned two-set sweeps over Emporia High.
The Black and Red bounced back in their third match, defeating Wichita East in three sets, 25-13, 19-25, 25-11.
Emporia High closed out the tournament on a strong note, sweeping Wellington in two sets, 25-21, 25-23.
The Lady Spartans finished the day with a 2-2 record and now sit at 8-5 on the season.
Emporia will return to action Tuesday with a road trip to Baldwin.
