A traffic stop last week led to the arrest of a Topeka man in Osage County on suspicion of drug distribution.
Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells says the arrest of 66-year-old Marvin McWhorter happened Thursday night near 173rd and Shawnee Heights Road. Deputies noted a traffic violation, which led to the stop and the alleged discovery of narcotics and a firearm.
McWhorter was arrested on suspicion of distributing methamphetamine, criminal possession of a firearm by a felon and transporting an open container of alcohol. Formal charges are pending.
