Emporia’s 2027 budget could be finalized this week.
City commissioners may well approve the annual Revenue Neutral Rate and the overall budget document as part of their meetings Wednesday. Public hearings on the related topics will take place early in the meeting.
After those discussions, commissioners may approve the Flinthills Mall Community Improvement District and authorize a 1-percent CID sales tax strictly for purchases made at mall businesses. A Street Rehab change order of nearly $130,000 is also up for approval.
The study meeting will have discussions on generators at residential homes, electric scooter and e-bike safety and infill and infiltration. There is one executive session for third-party data and economic development.
The action meeting is at 11 am at the Municipal Court Room. The study meeting follows at White Auditorium Wheeler Conference Room.
