Paving work begins this week on Kansas Highway 177 in Chase County.
The Sheriff’s Office says the project begins Thursday, weather permitting, and could go into late October.
The current plan is to start near US Highway 50 and pave south to Cassoday. Crews will work on one side of the road at a time.
Delays and slower traffic are expected.
This project is starting as a bridge construction project on K-177 continues further north. Traffic is down to 1 lane between the Chase-Morris county line and US Highway 56 as the bridge over Four Mile Creek is replaced. Delays of up to 5 minutes are expected and there is a 10-foot lane width restriction currently in place.
The project is tentatively set to end in mid-November.
