Emporia State senior linebacker Landon Boss has been honored as the MIAA Football Defensive Player of the Week for the fifth consecutive week and third this season. In ESU’s Week 2 win last Saturday, Boss notched 13 tackles and matched a career high with four tackles for loss while also registering a sack. The Osage City, Kan. native is the nation’s leader in TFL’s and is second in the MIAA in solo stops and ranks fourth in sacks. It is Boss’ sixth weekly award in 14 career games as a Hornet. The Black & Gold return home Saturday to host Nebraska-Kearney. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. with pregame at 3:00 p.m. on Mix 104.9.
