The Emporia State volleyball team has catapulted up the AVCA DII Coaches Poll after going 5-0 last week. The Lady Hornets are up seven spots to No. 18 in the latest poll following a 12-1 start. The Lady Hornets won a non-conference match against Newman last week before going 4-0 at the MIAA-GAC Crossover. Ferris State remains No. 1 with 44 of the 47 first place votes followed by Wayne State College, Tampa, Fresno Pacific, and Concordia-St. Paul. Nebraska-Kearney is the highest-ranked MIAA squad at No. 7 followed by Missouri Western at No. 8, and Washburn at 13th. Central Oklahoma checks in at No. 22 with Central Missouri at 25th. E-State opens up conference play on Friday with a road trip to Pittsburg State. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
