The 10 pm hour Saturday got pretty busy for local law enforcement and emergency responders.
Shortly after 10 pm, Lyon County Rural and Olpe firefighters were dispatched to Road 90 between Roads F and G for a brush fire. Early indications actually had more than one fire at that general location, possibly caused by lightning. No injuries were reported. Initial reports had up to 5 acres involved.
While firefighters were in the middle of that response, Emporia Fire/EMS and Lyon County deputies were dispatched to Roads 160 and N for a reported rollover injury crash. Rescue workers and deputies found a car in a field near the intersection. Additional details are currently pending.
And as that call was being handled, Emporia Fire/EMS had to send personnel to Emporia State University for a reported elevator entrapment at the Towers Complex. Everyone made it out safely.
