As survey work continues for Emporia’s Corridor Rail Safety Improvement process, 2 public meetings have now been announced.
Meetings will be at White Auditorium’s Little Theatre on October 7 and 8. The 2-hour presentations will feature 15-minutes presentations, with up to 45 minutes of time for attendees to talk with members of the project team, view display boards and maps and get information.
The survey process is one of several components in an effort to upgrade safety at Emporia’s 15 crossings between State and Weaver. Already, there have been conversations about the possible additions of cul-de-sacs or overpasses as potential safety solutions.
The October 7 meeting is from 3-5 pm, while the October 8 meeting is from 6-8 pm. The meetings will have identical information, so people don’t have to attend both. More information is available online at corridorsafetyimprovements.com.
