E-State Volleyball Up One Spot in AVCA Poll

The Emporia State volleyball team opened up MIAA play 1-0 last week.  Consequently, the Lady Hornets are up one spot in this week’s AVCA Top 25 poll.  Ferris State received 45 of the 47 first-place votes and remains No. 1 as the top nine in the poll remained stable.  Wayne State is second followed by Tampa, Fresno Pacific, and Concordia-St. Paul.  Nebraska-Kearney is the top-ranked MIAA team at No. 7 with Missouri Western is 8th, and Washburn is 15th with the Lady Hornets checking in at No. 17.  Central Oklahoma and Central Missouri are receiving votes.  E-State (13-1, 1-0 MIAA) has won its last 11 matches and faces the #7 Lopers on Friday at 6:00 p.m.  ESU swept the Lopers in the regular season last year.
