A pair of Area Games of the Week highlight Week Four of the high school football season.
Chase County travels to Lyndon as the two Flint Hills League teams meet in the opening week of District 3 play. That game can be heard on Country 101.7 FM, while Mix 104.9 FM will feature Olpe hosting Pittsburg Colgan.
The Chase County Bulldogs enter at 2-1, but they’re looking to bounce back after a 52-to-6 loss to Axtell last Friday.
Lyndon enters the district opener at 1-2 after earning its first win of the season last Friday, rolling past Cedar Vale 66-20.
Chase County coach Derek Budke says getting the Bulldogs’ run game going will be a key to getting back in the win column.
Lyndon coach Michael Massey says the Tigers need to stay focused on the fundamentals as they begin district play.

Over at Olpe, the Eagles host Pittsburg Colgan in the first District 1 game for both teams.
Olpe is 2-1, while Colgan enters the matchup still searching for its first win. The Panthers, however, have been a consistent program in recent years, winning at least nine games in each of the last four seasons.
The Eagles and Panthers have met plenty of times over the past five decades, including several playoff matchups. Olpe is 3-8 in those games.
Friday’s game will also include a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Olpe team that finished second at state.
Eagles coach Chris Schmidt has emphasized to his team the importance of not overlooking the Panthers.

Another district matchup will also take place in the Lyon County League, with Hartford traveling to Waverly for homecoming.
The Jaguars are 2-1 and have already doubled their win total from last season. Second-year Hartford coach Dalen Kistner says his team believes it can accomplish something special.
Waverly enters the game at 1-2 after picking up its first win of the season last Friday, shutting out Rural Vista 50-to-nothing.
Bulldogs coach Nick Fraenza says the game could come down to which team executes better in the trenches.
Kickoff for Hartford at Waverly is set for 7 p.m. as the Bulldogs host the Jaguars for homecoming.
