Homecoming activities are fast approaching at Emporia State University, and there is a lengthy slate of events later this month.
Vice President for Alumni and Constituent Engagement Marcia Novacek and ESU Foundation Senior Director of Donor Engagement Jan Trelc previewed some schedule highlights on the KVOE ESU Buzz on Thursday. Trelc says the full schedule is by design.
Trelc also mentioned some notable schedule changes, especially for football game day on October 24. Kickoff is at 7 pm, meaning daytime performances of the traditional Homecoming musical of “Frozen.”
Novacek says one of the opening activities is October 20 — a special exhibit open house through Special Collections & Archives.
The game-day schedule is full, according to Novacek.

*Oct. 21: Sam and Jeannene Hayes Lecture
*Oct. 22: Inauguration of President Matt Baker, debut of “Frozen” and the Homecoming Bonfire
*Oct. 23: Athletic Hall of Honor Lunch, Black & Gold Reception and second performance of “Frozen”
*Oct. 24: Hornet Brunch, 2 performances of “Frozen,” campus tour, downtown Homecoming Social, parade, open house for the Nursing & Student Wellness Center, Hornet Walk, Live at the Hive and the Homecoming football game against Central Missouri
*Oct. 25: Final performance of “Frozen”
