Emporia High cross country competed Saturday at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, with the Spartans turning in several strong individual performances.
In the Girls Blue & Crimson B 5K, Emma Beatty led the Emporia girls, finishing third out of 216 runners. Madison Evans also placed inside the top 10 percent of the field, crossing the finish line 10th.
On the boys side, Walker Metcalf was Emporia High’s top finisher in the Blue & Crimson B 5K. Metcalf placed 15th out of 250 runners.
The Spartans will return to competition Thursday when the Black and Red travels to Council Grove.
