Several Lyon County roads remain closed due to flood damage after heavy rain last week.
Over the weekend, the Lyon County Highway Department announced the closure of Road E between Roads 10 and 20. County Engineer Wayne Scritchfield says the closure follows damage to a low crossing nearby.
Despite anywhere from 1-4 inches of rain Thursday into Friday, there was just a short list of road closures in Lyon County — although those roads remain closed:
*Road 150 from Road J to Kansas Highway 99; from Road N to Road P
*300 block Road 180
*1700 block Road D
*Road J from Road 140 to Road 150
Osage County had road damage, and in at least one case there was bridge damage. A bridge along 237th between Docking and Valencia, 2 miles west of Osage City, is closed until further notice after a bridge washed out. Several other county and township roads, especially east of Lyndon, were impassable as of last word.
