Election Day preparations are underway in Lyon County, with voters just four weeks away from heading to the polls.
Lyon County Election Officer Amie Jones joined the KVOE Morning Show Monday to discuss what voters need to know ahead of Election Day on November 3.
One change will affect thousands of Emporia voters who previously cast their ballots at the Emporia Armory.
Approximately 2,600 Emporia voters will now vote at First United Methodist Church rather than at the Armory.
The change comes as the Armory’s parking lot is scheduled to undergo resurfacing work around Election Day.
In Hartford, voters will continue to cast their ballots at the Hartford Community Building. Jones noted that the damaged Hartford City Hall was not the city’s polling location to begin with.
Jones also reviewed some of the common do’s and don’ts voters should keep in mind when they head to the polls.
With Election Day approaching, Lyon County election officials are reminding voters to double-check their polling location and be prepared before heading out to vote November 3.
