The Emporia High cross country team dominated the El Dorado Invitational on Saturday at El Dorado State Park, as they swept the top spots in the girls’ race, and captured second place in the boys’ team standings.
The Lady Spartans led the charge behind a gold-medal performance from Emma Beatty and Madison Evans right behind in second. Ivanna Orduno capped off the girls’ top trio by taking ninth overall.
Momentum continued in the boys’ race as Xaden Delgado secured a third place podium finish, followed closely by Walker Metcalf in sixth and Kasen VanSickle in ninth to lead the Spartans to their runner-up team trophy.

The regular season concludes next Saturday in Topeka at the Centennial League Meet.
