The railroad crossing on Kansas Highway 170 near Reading closes to traffic Wednesday, weather permitting.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe is closing the crossing for repairs. The current plan has the crossing closing around 7 am Wednesday and not reopening until 9 pm Friday.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says drivers can use a signed detour involving US Highway 56, Kansas Highway 99 and Kansas Highway 31 during the closure.
