All but one item to come before Lyon County Commissioners Thursday gained unanimous approval.
This included two items related to the county’s new 911 center, starting with a better-than-$17,600 proposal from Driggs Design Group for engineering services. Additionally, commissioners approved a contract amendment for construction observation and site visits from Ben Moore Studio totaling $14,000, with both expenditures coming out of the project’s bond and interest fund.
Separately, commissioners approved a closure of the 700 block of Main Street in Americus between 1 pm and 5 pm Sunday, October 25th for the town’s annual Trunk or Treat event and a contract between the county, Kirkham Michael and Associates and the Kansas Department of Transportation for engineering services for the High Risk Rural Roads program.
The total project cost will be just over $55,900 and will be fully funded by KDOT, with no costs to the county.
Commissioners also unanimously approved a parking agreement between LCAT and Raise Your Paws. The only item to come before commissioners that was not approved was an animal at large resolution for handling at-large animals within the county.
Following discussions on the resolution between commissioners, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and County Counsel Molly Priest, it was decided to table the item for another week to update specific areas of the policy for further consideration.
The Lyon County Commission will reconvene for its regular action meeting next Thursday at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
