From a record high Tuesday to a frosty weekend.
Welcome to the Flint Hills in fall.
Tuesday had a high temperature of 93 degrees, shattering a record set back in 1962. After highs struggling to reach the mid-50s with breezy conditions all Friday, temperatures will dive to 32 degrees by early Saturday. Wind chills will be around 20 overnight.
A frost advisory has been announced from 1-7 am Saturday for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties. Chase and Greenwood counties are in a separate frost advisory from 1-9 am. Frost should be widespread, damaging or killing certain outdoor plants.
Saturday will have highs in the upper 50s and lows in the mid-30s. High temperatures warm to the mid-60s Sunday, low 70s Monday and near 80 degrees by Wednesday. Overnight lows will be in the 40s and 50s next week.
