The Olpe Eagles delivered a dominant performance Friday night, overwhelming the Northeast Arma Vikings 54-0 behind a powerful rushing attack, big-play passing and a defense that kept the Vikings off the scoreboard.
Olpe wasted little time establishing control, scoring four touchdowns in the first quarter to take a commanding 27-0 lead. The Eagles continued their offensive onslaught in the second quarter, adding three more touchdowns to carry a 47-0 advantage into halftime.
Abbott Bailey opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run at the 10:02 mark of the first quarter. Trey Leinemann followed with a 4-yard scoring run at 4:56, before Drew Ritchie broke into the end zone on a 15-yard rush with 2:58 remaining in the quarter.
The Eagles then showcased their passing game when Ryker Windle connected with Brecken McGuire for a 36-yard touchdown with 2:41 left in the opening period, pushing the lead to 27-0.
Olpe showed no signs of slowing down in the second quarter. Windle found Ritchie for a 31-yard touchdown pass at 11:19, extending the margin to 34-0. Lincoln Smith added a 9-yard touchdown run at 8:31, and Isaac Arnold punched in a 1-yard scoring run at the 5:01 mark to give the Eagles a commanding 47-0 lead.
Olpe added one final touchdown in the third. Rylan Windle raced into the end zone on a 5-yard run with just 55 seconds remaining in the period, capping the scoring at 54-0.
The Eagles’ offense piled up 317 total yards, including 209 on the ground and 108 through the air. Olpe’s balanced attack consistently found ways to move the football, combining productive rushing plays with timely touchdown passes to build its overwhelming lead.
Olpe’s Head Coach Chris Schmidt was impressed with how his team came out and took care of business tonight.
Defensively, Olpe was just as impressive. The Eagles forced two takeaways and held Northeast Arma to just six yards of total offense. The Vikings managed minus-14 yards rushing and only 20 yards passing, struggling to generate momentum against Olpe’s defensive pressure.
Northeast Arma fell to 2-5 with the shutout loss, while Olpe improved to 5-2 with a convincing all-around performance.
