The City of Emporia’s recently released development agreement guidelines will be one of the main talking points towards the end of the city commission’s meeting slate Wednesday.
The agreement standards, as listed on the city’s meeting agenda, will be one of three items addressed during the commission’s study session and follow their initial release this past Friday. The standards cover nine categories related to data center development and have been referred to as “non-negotiables” for the city for any developers or end users looking to bring a development to the community.
In other study matters, commissioners will review an updated Emporia housing study and discuss the commission’s meeting schedule for December.
The study session will take place inside the Evora Wheeler Conference Room in White Auditorium and will follow the commission’s action meeting. The action agenda includes consideration of awarding bids for improvements to Quaker Park as well as approval for Ten Works to fabricate and install handrails for upper seating at White Auditorium.
A resolution authorizing the City of Emporia to apply for a moderate-income housing grant and an ordinance amending Article 17 of the Emporia Municipal Code regulating the use of residential and portable generators will also be considered.
The action meeting begins at 11 am inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
