Lyon County’s election turnout is continuing to climb.
Turnout is just over 7 percent, with over 1,400 residents casting their ballots in the last week between off-site and in-office advance voting. For mail ballots, Lyon County Election Officer Amie Jones tells KVOE News a total of 647 ballots have been sent out, with 188 returned thus far.
A reminder: the final day to request a mail ballot is Tuesday, October 27th. While the three-day grace period for mail-in ballots is still in place, several legal cases are still making their way through the courts so residents are encouraged to not wait to get their ballots in and to do so in person to guarantee their arrival by Election Day.
Advance voting inside the Lyon County Courthouse Clerk’s Office continues from 8 am to 5 pm daily over the next week and will conclude Monday, November 2, with hours being 8 am to noon.
Election day is Tuesday, November 3, with polls opening at 7 am and remaining open until 7 pm. KVOE News will have complete election coverage shortly after the polls close on KVOE and KVOE.com.
