Newman Regional Health will host its free, monthly Child Safety Seat Inspection event on Tuesday.
From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., folks with a reservation will have the chance to hear about car seat selection, direction, location, installation and more from trauma program coordinator for Newman Regional Health, Abby Hogan, and another certified child passenger safety technician.
A hospital program that started within the last year, Hogan said she’s seen a car seat installed incorrectly at almost every check, which Hogan said makes sense given all the factors that go into ensuring proper installation.
As far as common mistakes Hogan sees, she said there are a couple things that come to mind.
The 30-minute inspections take place at Entrance F near Newman’s patient visitor tower the last Tuesday of each month. Folks interested in registering for an appointment can do so at NewmanRH.Org.
