Traffic was disrupted for a time in west Emporia early Wednesday afternoon as authorities had to wrangle a group of cattle.
Initial indications are that the cattle broke loose from the Emporia Sale Barn; however, that has not been confirmed. Authorities asked residents to avoid the area between 15th and Industrial Road as well as areas nearby, as they had to rope the cattle.
As of 1:45 pm, all but one of the cattle have been accounted for. Authorities say residents should be vigilant in the area and, if they do see a cow out, not to approach it.
