The Baby Closet of Emporia is asking residents to dispose of recently recalled baby wipes, some of which were distributed by the local non-profit.
On its official Facebook Page, the Baby Closet stated that a mother who has utilized their services shared information about the recall of Up & Up Fragrance Free and Fresh Cucumber scented baby wipes. Both of the brands were distributed within the Baby Closet and they are asking anyone who may have received the brands to throw them away.
The recall was issued by Target after consumer reports cited discoloration and skin irritation as a result of confirmed bacterial contamination, with tests revealing the presence of Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli.
Residents who received one of the recalled brands from the closet can go back and pick up a different brand during the closet’s normal hours of operation. The Baby Closet, located inside the First Congregational Church of Emporia, is open from 10 am to noon on Tuesdays and from 3 pm to 5:30 pm on Thursdays.
