Unbound Gravel hosted community members at its second annual Backyard Bash on Saturday.
From group rides and food trucks to prizes and lottery entry giveaways, community integration director Krisi Mohn said the free event is a way to get the community out and riding their bikes ahead of the race.
This year’s Backyard Bash, Kristi Mohn said, saw about 200 people enjoying the day’s festivities. With Unbound Gravel’s lottery closing on Nov. 15 and the lottery announcement on Nov. 21, Kristi Mohn said she’s excited to see how the pool continues to shape up this year, especially considering the race’s reach worldwide.
As one of the founding members of the race, owner of Merchant Cycles Tim Mohn said seeing the race grow over the last 21 years has been a thrilling experience.
With just seven months left until the big day, Kristi Mohn said community members have a lot to look forward to this year.
