The Emporia Municipal Band was the latest entity to tip its cap to veterans with its annual Salute to Veterans concert Sunday inside the Emporia Granada Theatre.
As always, the concert featured a robust selection of patriotic music, from the Star-Spangled Banner to America the Beautiful, the Armed Services Medley, and more. This was the band’s final concert ahead of the annual Emporia Community Foundation Match Day event, which the band is once again participating in.
Sunday’s concert also followed the annual Freedom Fest at the Emporia All Veterans Memorial Saturday and precedes Emporia’s Veterans Day Parade and memorial service in downtown Emporia on Veterans Day Wednesday.
The band will hold its final concert of the year, its 18th annual Christmas Concert at 3 pm, Sunday December 13th inside the Emporia Granada Theatre.
We have a YouTube short from Sunday’s concert online on KVOE’s YouTube Channel.
